New Newsmaker feature: Web Stats
Friday, February 26, 2010 at 02:16PM People are consuming more and more of their news on the Web, and they’re not only discovering it through newspaper Web sites, but also Facebook, blogs and Twitter. Those sites drive a lot of traffic to press releases on the readMedia newswire.
This week, we launched a feature upgrade to all Newsmaker accounts that lets clients see where this traffic is coming from and how popular their press releases are online. Web Stats is here!
Web Stats from readMedia on Vimeo.
Web Stats lets you see how each news release ranks compared to other releases on the readMedia newswire and discover which sites are most popular at driving traffic to your online release.
You can help your releases get seen in more places by using the sharing features available directly from your delivery report. Post a copy of your news release to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more sites. E-mail the release to employees and staff or embed it on your Web site or blog. The more places you share your news, the more people will see it, and the more you’ll boost your Web Stats ranking for each release.
What was hot on the readMedia newswire this week?
- The announcement about proposed state park closings in New York
- The New York governor’s statement asking Congress to extend unemployment insurance
- Arrests made in a sting involving a scheme to sell fraudulent drivers licenses
The San Francisco Chronicle recently reported the rise of Facebook as a primary way people are sharing news and links. Our own data reinforces this: Facebook now sends more traffic to releases on the readMedia newswire than Google News. Through Web Stats, readMedia clients are discovering niche Web sites and blogs that are linking to their news and writing about them — sites that they didn’t even know about!
